Photo Dropper is a Wordpress plugin that lets you add Flickr photos to your posts.
It searches for Creative Commons licensed photos – images that are licensed for shared use – and lets you drop them into your posts – right from your dashboard with just 1 click. Learn more.

This is going to be the permanent home of the PhotoDropper Wordpress Plugin. Here you will be able to get the latest release of the plugin.
If you run a Commercial Blog, be sure to check “Show only photos that can be used commercially” in the Photo Dropper options. Since you’re ultimately responsible for following Creative Commons licensing terms, please read this article to make sure you understand Creative Commons before using the plugin and posting photos to your blog.

Installation Instructions
- Unpack the photo_dropper.zip file and extract the /photo_dropper/ folder.
- Using an FTP program, upload the /photo_dropper/ folder to your WordPress plugins directory (Example: /wp-content/plugins).
- In your WordPress Admin panel and go to Plugins page (link on the top menu). Click the “Activate” link for Photo Dropper.
- Once activated, go to Options, then Click on Photo Dropper, and set your blog preferences.
If you run a Commercial Blog, be sure to check “Show only photos that can be used commercially” in the Photo Dropper options.
This plugin is only a tool – you are still responsible for adhering to the specific creative commons license for your blog.
Usage
- Once you have the plugin activated, you will see a “Photo Dropper Browse Photos” panel right under your Write Post (or Write Page) editor. Enter keyword(s) for a photo you would like for your post (Example: “sunset”, “black cat”, or “HDR bridge”) and click the Search button.
- The search will return photos matching your keywords.
- Once you find a photo you would like to add to your post, click on any of the sizes (”S”mall, “M”edium, “L”arge) to add that photo and attribution link to your post.
- The photo will appear in your post, followed by a link to the specific CC license for that photo, as well as a link back to the photodropper site, and a link to the photographer’s Flickr page.
We hope you like this plugin. It should save you a considerable amount of work. Whenever you post a photo, please be sure to check the actual license of it on the Flickr page. This is only a tool – you are responsible for adhering to copyright rules for all photos you post.
